Helping podiatrists put their best foot forward.

Last Friday, representatives from The Super Fund Co. addressed almost 100 podiatrists at the annual Podiatry Hive conference in Brisbane, to help show them how important it is to plan and manage their super and investments.
People often think superannuation is a boring topic and something to worry about much later in life – we get it! - but every time we do one of these presentations, people always walk away amazed at the impact they can have on how much they retire with, and when, by implementing some simple strategies.
Central to this is what we like to call “one of the three key elements to super success” – your own adviser, who can provide you with a personalised review, and give advice on everything from tax-effective super contribution strategies, to succession planning for your business. The impact this can have is significant in both the short- and long-term.
One of the case studies we talked about at the Podiatry Hive conference highlights this impact. One of our clients unfortunately lost her husband quite suddenly recently, and could have been in a precarious financial position – as well as dealing with her loss – had she not been a client of The Super Fund Co. When she and her husband joined us a few years ago, their adviser implemented a number of initiatives that saved them tax and built their super balance in the short term; and also organised a comprehensive insurance review as he was concerned they were under-insured for the long term. The outcome is that even though her husband has passed away much sooner than they expected, at least our client does not have financial worries to add to her grief right now.
The moral to the story is – the time to get on top of your super is now. The sooner you do, the sooner you’ll have more choices in how you and your loved ones live life.
If you, your workplace or association would like someone from The Super Fund Co. to come and talk to your colleagues about super, contact us anytime – we promise it won’t be boring!
PS. Congrats to Paul in the picture above, who was the lucky winner at the Podiatry Hive conference of an iPad Mini courtesy of The Super Fund Co. – all the better to track his super portfolio with!
